ABN AMRO | Dump je Oude Bank

Dutch bank ABN AMRO needed a campaign to target students. Which was huge for them. Because freshman year is one of the very few moments in a lifetime that people switch bank. They had a secret weapon - if you opened an account you’d get a lime-green inflatable chesterfield couch. It was a bit of lame word joke (in Dutch the word ‘bank’ means both ‘bank’ and ‘couch’). But we ran with it.

We encouraged students to get rid of their old couch (Dump je oude bank).

And get a new one (a new bank account / a new lime-green inflatable chesterfield couch).

Together with director Joeri Holsheimer we turned it into a rallying cry. With a raw film showing students all over town ditching couches. To make room for the new.

The campaign struck gold. It scored well amongst students, attracted lots of new customers and even made the employees proud again to be working for this bank.
