The Island of all Together | Documentary

We should talk more with each other, not about each other.

With destructive warfare in Syria and neighbouring countries, the refugee crisis at the border of Europe had just begun. And while the mainstream news infused scare about this ‘tsunami of refugees’, Philip and his wife Marieke set out to embrace our shared humanity.

They launched The Island Of All Together, a project on the Greek island Lesbos to connect tourist with refugees and let them have simple,

honest conversations about love, life and the pursuit of a safe existence.

The project brought back a humility to the conversation about the refugee crisis, getting many journalism accolades and leading to many more little chats between two strangers.
